What IT Solutions Do I need?
Main Post:
Hi Folks,
I have a small restaurant business and a few other ventures on the side with family members, inclusive of an e-commerce website that sales cleaning products. What IT services would be the bare minimum for me to invest in?
Thank you in advance

What’s one IT sin that if you weren’t an IT Pro you would be guilty of?🚔
Main Post:
One of my favorite things about IT online communities is reading all the stories people share — the good, the bad, and the absolutely jaw-dropping stories that make me question humanity😅.
But my absolute favorite part? Realizing that once upon a time, I was 100% guilty of some of the same things they’re complaining about. Cue the existential crisis while I replay every questionable tech decision I made before I knew better.
And I’m sure I’m not the only one who has sinned against the IT gods at some point. So tell me, what’s one IT sin you’d probably be guilty of if you weren’t an IT pro?
Browsing the company CRM on public Wi-Fi? Plugging in random USB drives?
Don’t worry — this is a safe space. Nothing you say here can or will be used against you in the court of law

IT solutions companies?
Main Post:
Hi all,
I'm gonna be a recent grad soon and so far I've been lucky enough to be reached out by recruiters but most of them are in IT solution companies.
I'm just wondering what's the culture like there, and if it's a good place to learn and improve my skills as a junior software developer. Are the projects fun and interesting to work on? What should I expect working here? Is this a good place to start right out of college?
I'm just afraid of choosing an option that I might regret later just because I settled for the first job that wants me.
Thanks for the advice!
Edit: add position name

Your first job won't be your last, and it won't be your dream job. When I graduated, I repaired copiers for a year, and then worked at geeksquad got a year before finding a relevant position.
IT Solutions is pretty broad, but they probably push managed services pretty hard with cloud services. You'll probably become a jack of all trades.
If you dont like the job, you can just get a new one. It's not uncommon for people to switch jobs until they find one they like. You just don't talk about the ones you stayed at for under a year.
Starting an IT Solutions & Services company in California
Main Post:
Hello Everyone!
I’m in the means of starting my own business in IT, strongly focusing on services(msp, hourly, project based) as well as consulting. I’ve already setup an LLC in California with a business name, registered the business with my bank, and in the process of building a 2-3 page website. I’m not an expert on the business side, so I am stuck with a few roadblocks.
What do I need to do in order to be successful in this business? What steps do I need to take in terms of the legal side(written contracts for services, insurance, paperwork) and also the business side(gathering clientele, sales, marketing)?
Any and all help is truly appreciated!
NOTE: Some background, I graduated in 2018 from my university with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. I have about 10 years of professional IT experience working with a variety of companies from start ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Is this company legit ? - IT Solutions Management Internation Pte. ltd
Main Post:
I have applied for a Flutter Developer role through Indeed for the above mentioned company and have an interview with them on Monday. But internet searches turn up little to nothing about it. No Glassdoor or LinkedIn and it seems they are based out of Singapore and the work is fully remote. Can you guys please help me find out if this company is legit ?
Update: It’s not a scam but it seemed like a consultancy startup out of Singapore. They are not registered in India though.
Top Comment: hello, is this company legit, after that interview round ,what did you find??
Any experience with companies like Dice or other "IT Solutions" companies? Is it viable to start and get experience?
Main Post:
I am flooded with notices on LinkedIn about job opportunities from companies that purport to support other companies in their tech needs but the actual job content is unclear. One I see a lot on LinkedIn is Dice. Does anyone have any experience with working for companies like this?
I'm wondering if it is good to just get some experience.

I got an email from [email protected] saying that your resume got shortlisted and you have to give an online test, I gave that test which was nothing but basic English and Math. Now I have gotten this mail saying I have to join a meeting at 4. I did some research about the company and found nothing substantial. Is this a legit company?
They say I am shortlisted for this role : Apply for Java Developer – Nebraska IT Solutions

Have any of you started your own IT business, what has been your experience?
Main Post:
Hi all,
I come from a rural area of New England and notice that medical clinics, schools and small businesses in my home area hardly have any options for outsourced IT/ technology consulting. I had to move to the midwest in order to start my career in IT a while back but being home for the holidays has helped me realize that it may be viable for me to start a small business here providing those resources for people. I haven't given it much thought yet but I'm just imagining a mom-and-pop style IT shop where we provide computers, networking, security, and on-call support. That said I know starting any business is grueling work. Has anyone here done something like this? Are you satisfied doing it?
When you started your IT business, how did you prepare? What services do you provide? Please feel free to share your experience, it would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.
Top Comment: I am in NE, and did run my own IT business for while, left it about six years ago. A few tips: Focus on getting repeat work at small and medium businesses. Residential jobs don't pay much and they are usually one-offs that will repeatedly call for free help afterwards. Don't get retail space. It's absurdly expensive and will sink you. Make as many contacts as you can. Referrals are key. Be very responsive. Time is your most precious commodity. Don't be afraid to fire non-profitable time wasting clients. Your goal is to have a curated list of repeat buisness clients who pay promptly. See if joining your local chamber of commerce is worthwhile. Networking groups are a mixed bag. I joined BNI and found it to be sort of meh. Check them out. Don't drink the cool-aid. *edited to add more
